At Ruth's Dance and Fitness Co. LLC. we offer dance classes that are sure to teach the fundamentals and techniques of Classical Ballet, Jazz, Modern Dance, Tap and Musical Theater. In addition students will learn strength and flexibility through using the appropriate muscle groups to achieve their ultimate goals in dance. Students at Ruth's Dance and Fitness. will be able to explore the art of dance in many different facets. It's a win-win situation for students and parents, and your child's physical and mental health will benefit greatly through learning correct form, muscle discipline, and energizing choreography.
CHILDREN’S BALLET I & II (Ages 4-6 & 5-7)
Student’s will work on ballet stretches and basic combinations across the floor. Emphasis on terminology and correct body placement.
ADVANCED CHILDREN'S BALLET (Ages 7-11)
Student’s will continue to advance in their stretches and will learn ballet exercises at the barre. More intricate footwork will be taught at center floor. Strong emphasis on body placement and balance.
JUNIOR BALLET I & II (Ages 8-12 & 10-14)
Students will continue to perfect their stretches. Combinations taught at the barre will become more intricate in order to develop inner thigh and calve strength needed for balancing in ballet.
SENIOR BALLET/POINTE & ADULT ALUMNI (Ages 14-18 & 18 PLUS)
All combinations taught at the barre and center floor will be much more complex. Students will learn more advanced terminology at the barre and the exercises will be much more detailed with a special focus on balance. Students will be expected to learn at a quicker pace and multiple combinations will be taught at center floor.
ADULT BALLET ( Ages 18 plus)
Adults will learn a slow and methodical approach to ballet at the barre. The class focuses on correct body placement and students will learn choreography.
JUNIOR JAZZ I & II (8-12 & 11-14)
Jazz Isolations, stretching combined with jazz technique and more intricate choreography at center floor.
SENIOR JAZZ (Ages 14-18)
Faster paced jazz isolations and aggressive stretches along with strength and balance combinations at center floor. Students will learn more advanced Jazz choreography in this class.
Ruth is a certified Group Exercise Instructor through NETA (National Exercise Trainers Assoc.). Ruth has been a member of FACT (Fitness Assoc. for Continuing Teachers and the Association of Fitness Professionals).
Ruth's Dance and Fitness Co.,LLC., now in its 28th year, was built upon a foundation of strong dance techniques that stress balance, muscle control and safety awareness issues.
NON-AEROBIC:
BODY STRENGTHNING
Using weights, balls and bands we strength train all the major muscle groups to achieve a toned and sculpted look as well as stronger bones. Through the use of your mind, body and breath, you will be taught qualitative “core-conditioning”. The stomach, back and glutes will be the target of your “core”. This class will help you achieve toned muscles, flat abs and improved posture that will help you achieve a leaner look. The last 10-15 minutes of this class will be devoted to a cardio routine at center floor.
